Languages and currencies

The language of a document belongs to the person receiving it, not to the person issuing it. A Romanian company invoicing a German customer should be sending German.

Eight languages for documents

English, Romanian, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and Polish. Set a default in Settings → Documents, set a different one on a customer's record, or change it on a single document. Everything printed on the page translates — headings, column titles, the payment block, the status stamp, the thank-you line.

The panel you work in stays in your language. Only the document changes.

Any currency

Set a currency per customer, or per document. We handle currencies with no minor unit (yen, won) and with three decimals (dinar) correctly — no invented cents on a yen invoice, and no truncated fils on a Kuwaiti one.

The exchange rate

A document in a currency other than your own records the rate at the issue date, and keeps it. Reports in your own currency use that frozen rate, not today's. This is why your January revenue does not change when the euro moves in March.

Some tax authorities require a specific source for the rate — the central bank rate for the date of supply, for example, at a stated precision. Where that applies in the countries we cover, the rate on the document follows the rule for that country rather than a generic market rate.

What is not translated

Your own text. Notes, terms and item names are yours, and we do not machine-translate them behind your back — a mistranslated payment term is worse than an English one. If you sell into two languages, keep two item names, or write the note on the document.

Questions people actually ask

Can one customer always get documents in German?

Yes. Set the language on their customer record and every document for them comes out in German, whatever your default is.

Do the item names translate?

No. Those are your words, and a machine translation of a product name on a legal document is a risk we are not going to take on your behalf.

Which currencies are supported?

All of them, including the ones with zero or three decimal places. The decimal handling is per currency, not a global setting.
