Document design

Five templates, your logo, your colour, and a preview that is the actual renderer — not a picture of what it might look like.

The preview is the document

Settings → Document design shows a sample document rendered by the same code that produces the PDF, the emailed copy and the customer portal page. There is exactly one renderer. If it looks right here, it is right everywhere — including in the PDF your customer's accountant prints.

What you can change

Per document, when a customer insists

One document can override the organisation template. Open it and change it there — useful when a large customer has agreed a particular look, and much better than keeping a second account for them.

Our name on your documents

On the free plan a small grey line under the document says it was invoiced with Oltrano. It sits outside the page, it does not print, and it disappears by itself the day you start paying — you do not have to ask. If you pay and want to keep it, there is a switch.

The stamp

A drawn company stamp, bottom right, if you want one. That has its own guide: company stamp.

Questions people actually ask

Can I upload my own template?

Not an arbitrary file, no. The five templates are rendered by code so the same document can come out as HTML, PDF and e-invoicing XML consistently. A one-off PDF design would break the other two.

My logo looks blurry on the printed PDF.

Upload an SVG if you have one, or a PNG at least 600px wide. The renderer does not upscale — a 200px logo stretched onto paper is blurry everywhere, not just here.

Can different document types use different templates?

Yes, per document. Many people send quotes on a bolder template and invoices on a plain one.
